Terms and Conditions of Booking

How To Book

1 Look at our Website or our Brochure and select the accommodation that suits your needs.
   
2 Then check the availability calendar which is usually up to date or telephone 015394 43415.
   
3 Telephone us or email to make a booking.We will confirm your provisional booking and send you a Booking Form by post or by email.
   
4 You then complete the Booking Form and return it to us either by post or email with the deposit of £150 per Apartment/Houseboat.
   
5 Once we have received your Booking Form and Deposit we will confirm your booking either by letter or email.
   
6 Six weeks before you arrive the balance is due for payment.
   
7 You can make payments in several ways.
   
  7.1 By cheque as long as there is sufficient time for it to clear before you arrive
     
  7.2 By Debit Card
     
  7.3 By Credit Card (there is a 2% charge for these)
     
  7.4 By Bank Transfer.
     
  7.5 If you wish to pay by card we prefer you to ring with your card details for security purposes.
   
8 Security Deposit

We ask Guests to lodge a  security deposit of £150 per apartment/houseboat with us in case of damage or unreasonable maintenance/cleaning. This can be either a cheque or a debit/credit card. The deposit will be returned within 21 days of departure less any deduction for damage/breakages.
Since we took over the business in 2005 we have only had one occasion when a Guest caused damage or the accommodation required excessive cleaning.

9 Non Availability of Accommodation

If for any reason beyond our control the Apartment or Houseboat booked is not available, or has been rendered unsuitable for holiday letting (e.g. by fire damage or some system fault), on the date booked, then we will offer alternative accommodation if available or refund all rent and charges paid by the holidaymaker in full, but there shall be no further claim against the owners.

10 Cancellation policy

In the event that the Guest has to cancel or cut short his holiday for any reason then the Deposit is non refundable under any circumstances. We will do our best to re let the accommodation and if we are successful then we will refund the amount that we have re let the accommodation for less the deposit and less £50 management charge.
We strongly recommend that all our Guests take out their own Holiday Cancellation Insurance

11 Liability

No liability is accepted for any loss, damage, sickness or injury howsoever caused which may be sustained during the holiday to the guest or any member of the party or any invited person, or any car and its contents, or any possession of the guest or any member of the party as defined above.

12 Arrival and Departure Times

The houseboats are available from 3.00pm on the day of arrival to 10.00am on the day of departure.

While we are normally on site to greet guests and for departures special arrangements can be made for early or late arrivals.

13 General Behaviour

Bookings are taken on the understanding that all members of the party behave in a reasonable manner and do not disturb other guests.

Should any party behave in a way that is considered to be unsuitable by Windermere Lake Holidays they will be asked to leave immediately.

If you are asked to leave for unreasonable behavior there will be no compensation. 

14 Pets

One well behaved dog is permitted on each houseboats by prior arrangements. NOTE exercising of dogs on the site is prohibited.

15 Complaints

We hope that you find the accommodation completely satisfactory however if there is any cause for complaint then please advise us of this immediately. It is too late to report any problems after your holiday. 

Whilst we will do everything reasonably in our power to effect speedy repairs to properties and/or any furnishings or equipment or facility that may be faulty or fail during your holiday, no guarantees are given and no refunds will be made should any such fault, failure or breakdown occur and not be immediately rectifiable or rectified.
